Ask MarideeI met Scott and Georgia Ball a couple of years ago now, when I joined a local cartooning club that meets in Seattle. I immediately fell in love with their comic. Back then it was called “Scooter and Ferret”, soon morphing into “Ask Maridee” when the titular Scooter (a dog) and Ferret (a… ferret) left their human pal Maridee to become the focus of the strip. Scott’s style just blows me away and Georgia is a very gifted writer and artist.

Sadly, they moved to the other side of the country recently, but in the short time they were here I was fortunate to get a chance to know them a little, pick their brains, and I gladly call them friends. In September, my wife and I got to spend a great evening of dinner and karaoke with them, and it was a blast.

Anyhow, their strip is making a big shift as of this past week, changing from a couple of short gag strips a week into a longer form weekly comic. I know that this is the format Georgia especially has wanted to do for a long time, and I’m excited to see what they’ve got up their sleeve.

Check it out!

Anna and I off to Orlando tonight for a fun-and-sun-filled week with the rest of the Routly clan, so my plan is to do a couple of comics on the road. Should they be up late, you can blame Walt Disney, or possibly the good people at Universal. Or maybe someone at Medieval Times.  I dunno.

I should get back to packing.
