What is it about eating together that guys love so much?

With all the places I’ve lived, I’ve been lucky enough to have two different groups of guys with whom I could do some semblance of a “guy’s night” fairly regularly.  One of them was born out of a church Bible study for guys, and one from a group of (then high-school) RPGers — who actually still get together, some 14 years later — but in all both cases even though the purpose of the group was something else we always seemed to find time to go eat all-you-can-eat sushi together.

And with both we’d often go line up together for ridiculous amounts of time on opening night to ensure we could snag good seats to see whatever the latest geeky genre movie was, now that I think of it.  With all those new Star Wars and Lord of the Rings movies coming out, it was a golden age for such things back then though.

Having since moved away from both of those groups, I do have a great new group of guys here with whom to get together, eat, and discuss the latest geeky phenomenon while they give me more material for this strip . . . but for some reason we’ve yet to establish a regular all-you-can-eat sushi tradition.  That must be amended, post haste!
