In keeping with my promise that this comic will be somewhat like my real life, it was important that Ronnie stay a pastor’s kid. It definitely helped shape me into who I am today, and Lord knows that it gave me a lot of material!

In “real life”, both my parents were actually pastors, within the Salvation Army, who have ordained women for a very long time. I have other plans for Mum however (note: I call her Mum because people insist that is what I actually call my own mother, with my adorable Canadian accent) so I thought that Ronnie’s life would differ from mine in this way.

Dad actually did do several “What Would Jesus Say To…” sermon series’ over the years. Oprah, Bill Gates, J.R.R Tolkien. No one was safe from Dad’s attempts to keep his sermons relevant.
